Spring Break in Texas
This March we decided to stay closer to home for spring break. We thought that Austin would be a good place to go to seeing as it is our state capitol and all.
N and C were not sure not being at the beach would be much of a spring break, but went along with it. As it turned out, it was one of our best vacations!
Our first day was a bit cold and rainy so we went to see the state capitol. It was so interesting to see it in person.
N got to attend a baseball camp at UT for the first 3 mornings and the afternoons were spent swimming, throwing football, playing soccer, riding horses and ponies. Every evening there was a tremendous buffet with s'mores afterwards around the firepits. There were also movies on the lawn at dusk. All this was set along the Mighty Colorado River. If you ever get a chance to go to Austin, you have to check out the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort! We loved it!

C's Kindergarten Go Texan Day at school
Here are a few shots of C's day at her Go Texan Day. (they start them early with the texas proud stuff :p )
I had to include the first photo due to the moment behind it. C got a group of her classmates to come into the picture and then proceded to say, "ok I've got an idea...you stand here, you stand here, etc. I couldn't believe my ears. The mom next to me was impressed, I was just thinking, "the apple didn't fall far from the tree" :)
The other picture is of her class doing a Texas tornado dance that they had been learing. Very cute.
C also had her first school project to do for the day. Each child was to make their own stick pony. Once again C was able to use her direction skills and tell mom where to put everything. Not really, she did stuff and apply most of the decoration to it herself.
**School Projects...the opportunity for parents to make up for their own school projects that their parents did for them!!! And the cycle continues.
